JSC „Latvijas balzams” has commenced the production and
export of new product – dry apple cider „Apple Garden”. The recipe
of this new cider is based on 100% apple juice and created by
eksperts of „Latvijas balzams”. Estonia is percieved as the main
export market for „Apple Garden” cider by now. It is planed to sell
about 30 000 bottles of new cider in Estonia by the end of
this year. „Latvijas balzams” is looking forward to expand to other
potential cider export markets in the nearest future.
Valters Kaže, Brand Director of „Latvijas balzams” is
commenting : „Statistics show that cider market in Baltics is
growing – like in 2011 the Baltic cider market has increased
for about 10%. Although we can not talk about cider culture in
Baltic countries yet as for example it is in United Kingdom,
Germany or other EU countries, the consumers choice is transforming
towards the dry ciders’ segment – they becomes more and more
popular. As main export market for this product we see Estonia now,
but our perspective is to be represented with Latvian cider in
other EU markets aswell”.
Dry cider „Apple Garden” is based on famous old traditions of
sprakling wines and light alcoholic beverages developed by the
technologists of „Latvijas balzams”. Cider will be available on
local market aswell in specialized „Latvijas balzams” shops and the
largest retail chains.
