Consolidated net turnover of the JSC “Ventspils nafta” (NASDAQ OMX RIGA: VNF1R) Group in the nine months of 2011 has reached LVL 49,8 million, but with a net loss of LVL 2,87 million. The main reason for the loss is the financial performance of JSC “Latvijas kuģniecība” - associated company of JSC “Ventspils nafta” where losses in the reporting period reached LVL 15 million. A large part of the reporting period loss (LVL 6.4
million) for JSC “Latvijas kuģniecība” Group relates to the
provisions made for the assets which are held for sale and
therefore has no cash-flow impact. Despite the net losses reported
in the third quarter of 2011 JSC “Latvijas Kuģniecība”
Group continued to work to improve the company’s efficiency and
reduce administrative costs which now are 33% lower when compared
with the same period in 2010.
Turnover of the JSC “Ventspils nafta” subsidiary
““Ventspils nafta” termināls” Ltd (hereafter – VNT) in the nine
months of 2011 reached LVL 41.3 million. ““Ventspils nafta”
termināls” Ltd transhipped nearly 8.7 million tons of petroleum
products in the nine months of this year, which is 34% or 2.2
million tons more than the corresponding period in
2010.
In the first nine months of 2011 the amount of diesel
fuel received by railway and handled by VNT increased by almost one
million tons, thus increasing the amount handled in this segment by
62%. The next biggest increase was made by diesel fuel received by
pipeline, with an increase of 700,000 tons. However the fastest
increase was petrol and fractions received by railway which was
double compared with the same period last
year.
The revenue of “LatRosTrans” Ltd – a JSC “Ventspils
nafta” subsidiary, owner and operator of crude oil and petroleum
product pipelines in the territory of Latvia – from core activity
in the first nine months of 2011 was LVL 8.3 million, which is
25.8% more than planned. The main reason for improvement of
financial results of “LatRosTrans” Ltd is the increase in petroleum
product transport volumes against what was planned.
Management of JSC “Ventspils nafta” plans to advise
investors of more detailed plans for the future development of the
company in the early December, 2011.
