In the first nine months of 2011 Ventspils nafta terminals (VNT) handled 34% more freight than in the same period i 2010. Total amount of handled freight in the first three quarters was around 8.7 million tons or 2.2 million tons more than in the same period last year. 

In the first nine months of 2011 the amount of diesel fuel received by railway and handled by VNT increased by almost one million tons, thus increasing the amount handled in this segment by 62%. The next biggest increase was made by diesel fuel received by pipeline an increase of 700,000 tons. However the fastest increase was petrol and fractions received by railway which was double compared with the same period last year.
