In the first quarter of 2011, Ventspils nafta termināls transshipped 2 962,800 tonnes of product, an increase of 396,600 tonnes (15%) as compared to the same period in 2010. The amount of gasoil received via railway has increased almost by 50%.

Looking at the specific months, transshipment volumes in February were 11% higher than in January, while in March was 33% higher than in February. The greatest part of the increase in March was due to gasoil received via railway. In January and February VNT transshipped on average 200,000 tonnes of gasoil received via railway, while in March this amount doubled to more than 400,000 tonnes.

On a quarterly basis results, VNT transshipped 816,700 tonnes of gasoil received by railway in the first quarter, 271,200 tonnes more than in 2010, equal to an increase of almost 50%.
