LSC Shipmanagement Ltd., a subsidiary company of Joint Stock Company Latvian Shipping Company, has received the latest quality management standard certificate ISO 9001-2008, thus certifying the high quality of services offered by LSC Shipmanagement Ltd. and their compliance with the requirements of the company's clients, as well as the legislation and regulatory enactments applicable to it.

International management systems certification leader, Bureau Veritas Latvia has provided a favourable assessment of the achievements of LSC Shipmanagement Ltd. and has recognised the company's compliance with the requirements of the quality management system ISO 9001:2008 standard in the realm of crewing ships.

The official presentation of the ISO 9001:2008 certificate took place today on 21 May 2010.

LSC Shipmanagement Chairman of the Board, Ansis Zeltins emphasised that, "The certificate received certifies the ability of LSC Shipmanagement Ltd. to offer clients the highest quality services and I am genuinely delighted about our achievements. Certification was not a goal in itself for us, but rather a carefully considered strategic step with the goal of attracting new clients and continually seeking visionary solutions so that our clients receive only the very best ship crewing and management service, thus also benefiting their business and competitiveness. Therefore, I would like to thank all our employees for their responsible and, at times, even scrupulous work, as a result of which we have significantly increased our competitiveness in the ship crewing and management business segment."

ISO 9001:2008 is the latest version of the international quality governance system standard (in force from 15 November 2008, replacing its predecessor, standard ISO 9001:2000), which is based on quality management principles with the goal of providing quality services, achieving client satisfaction and meeting their requirements. Certification increases the company's public profile and its opportunities to compete on the international market.

LSC Shipmanagement Ltd. carries out ship crewing not only for the ships of JSC Latvian Shipping Company, but also for oil and chemical substance tankers, gas carriers, refrigerator vessels, dry cargo ships and trawlers, etc. belonging to other ship owners. LSC Shipmanagement has received an ISM certificate issued by the Bureau Veritas Quality International classification company. The company has received all the necessary certificates, opinions and licences from the Republic of Latvia's Ministry of Transport and the Maritime Administration of Latvia.
