The Joint Stock Company “Latvijas Gāze” predicts that in the spring and summer of 2009, after the end of the heating season, the customers, including the major consumers – district heating companies, might incur in debts for the consumed natural gas. In order for the JSC “Latvijas Gāze” to avoid problems in settlements with natural gas suppliers, a credit line has been opened at the JSC “SEB Bank”.

In 2009, the JSC “Latvijas Gāze” plans to make investments at the amount of 24 million LVL. Mostly those will be dedicated to modernization and security improvement of the gas supply system. The investments into construction of new gas pipelines are due to decrease in 2009, since due to the bad economic conditions in Latvia the development in the real estate market has also declined.
