On 22 November, the day trading session in the Nasdaq Stock Exchange building in New York ended with the presence of Latvenergo AS and other Baltic companies. At the same time, a video advertisement for Latvenergo was shown in Times Square, a central New York business location.

Having won the Nasdaq Baltic Award for Best Investor Relations in the Baltics for the third time, the synergy between Latvenergo and Latvia’s natural green energy was visible in the heart of the global economy – New York’s Times Square on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange’s Central Building screen on 22 November. Latvenergo, as the winner of the Nasdaq Award for Best Investor Relations, participated in the traditional closing of the session and a video representing Latvenergo and green energy with the slogan “Green Energy. Green Bonds” was also shown on the Nasdaq Central Building in Times Square for an hour.

“During patriots month, we are proud to transmit the image of a green, sustainable and energy-independent Latvia to the world! This video tells a special story – we have made it not only thinking about Latvenergo but also about Latvia and the treasures that Latvia offers, which we need to use wisely. Why wind energy? At Latvenergo, we see it as one of the cornerstones of the company’s and the country’s energy future on the road to energy independence and climate neutrality. These are assets that are relevant from downtown New York to the Baltic Sea coast and the forests of Latvia,” says Toms Siliņš, Member of the Supervisory Board of Latvenergo AS.

The 30-second video advertisement evokes a feeling of fresh air, freedom and nature, combined in a message of responsible and smart use of wind energy. Latvenergo is one of the leading sustainable energy companies, which is also appreciated by investors. “The green bonds issued by Latvenergo are an investment in sustainability and growth as the Group embarks on new and ambitious renewable energy projects – which is why the Group’s video expresses our ambitions in the area of wind energy. We are committed to making a significant contribution to Latvia’s green goals by expanding and diversifying our generation portfolio with advanced green technologies, developing large-capacity wind farms, reconstructing our hydropower plants and thus reducing the country’s energy dependence. The Latvenergo team is strongly committed to sustainability because the benefits of working together as a team are for our society, security and country – values that take on new meaning in the shadow of the war in Ukraine,” says Guntars Baļčūns, Member of the Management Board of Latvenergo AS.

Latvenergo AS started issuing bonds at the end of 2012, issuing green bonds for the first time in 2015. Issuance of the green bonds demonstrates the sustainability of the Group’s operations and that Latvenergo’s generation portfolio is one of the greenest in Europe, with a significantly lower intensity of CO2 emissions than the sector average.

Latvenergo AS has won the Award for Best Investor Relations among all bond issuers on the Nasdaq Baltic regulated markets in the Baltic countries in 2017, 2021 and 2023. The award is presented every second year and recognises the outstanding achievements of Nasdaq Baltic listed companies in the areas of transparency, sound corporate governance and investor relations.

A recording and video of the event can be found on Latvenergo’s Facebook profile, as well as on Latvenergo’s website.
