Following an open competition for the position of Chairman of the Management Board of Sadales tīkls AS, the Supervisory Board of Sadales tīkls AS reappointed Sandis Jansons. The new term of office is five years, effective as of 1 October 2023.

In accordance with the Cabinet Regulations, the selection process was carried out by a Nomination Committee composed of four external experts (a representative of the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance, a representative of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), a representative of the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia (LDDK), a representative of the trade union Enerģija), as well as four representatives of the Supervisory Board of Sadales tīkls AS and Latvenergo AS. S. Jansons received the highest overall score in the competition.

S. Jansons holds an Executive MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. Prior to joining Sadales tīkls AS, his work experience includes various management positions in large Latvian and international companies – Rīgas Dzirnavnieks AS (Lantmannen), SBE Latvija SIA (Lantmannen), Magnum Medical SIA, Philip Morris Latvia SIA, etc. S. Jansons has led the implementation of the operational efficiency programme of Sadales tīkls AS, achieving a significant reduction in the number of employees, fleet, buildings and digitalisation of the company.

The competition for the position of Chairman of the Management Board of Sadales tīkls AS was launched on 15 May 2023 and 17 applications were received.

Joint Stock Company (AS) Sadales tīkls is an energy supply company which ensures the operation of a unified distribution system, the operation, development and interconnection of the distribution electrical network with other energy supply systems, the supply of electricity to end-users in a quality and quantity that meets the requirements of the standards, as well as the reliability of the distribution system, taking into account environmental protection requirements and non-discriminatory conditions of use of the distribution system for all users of the system. Latvenergo AS is the sole shareholder of Sadales tīkls.
