Supervisory Board of JSC “Latvijas balzams” announces that Chairman of the Board Mr. Rolands Gulbis has decided to step down from his post after the annual shareholder meeting, which will take place on April 29, 2008.

 

R. Gulbis has worked in “Latvijas balzams” since 2001, and since the August of 2003 is company’s Chairman of the Board. Working together with shareholders and employees during these years a lot has been achieved in developing company; achieving and cementing its market leader position in Latvia. Company has about 40% market share of alcoholic beverages market in Latvia. Exports to neighboring Baltic States have been developed. All together, “Latvijas balzams” products are exported to 28 countries of the world. Company is also one of the largest taxpayers in the country.

 

R. Gulbis has also been involved in public sector organizations. He’s Member of the Supervisory Board in Employer’s Confederation of Latvia; Member of the Board in Latvian Federation of Food Enterprises; President of Latvia’s Association of Alcoholic beverage producers and distributors, as well as strategic consultant for Latvia’s Traders Association and Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
