In the middle of June 2010, JSC „Rīgas kuģu bīvētava” started to
third of Coast guard patrol vessel for Latvian Naval Forces
„Viesīte”. It is the first one out of five patrol vessel ordered by
Defence, and it will be entirely built in Latvia.
It is foreseen, that by the end of September or in the beginning of

The patrol vessels have been the names given: “Skrunda”, “Cēsis”,
“Jelgava” and “Rēzekne”.
The first patrol vessel “Skrunda” was started to built in September
of 2009, in
Germany, and it is planned to release for Latvia in April of 2011.

The term of issuance is February 2012, but the patrol vessel
is being built in Latvia, will be done by August of 2012.
One patrol vessel for Latvian Navy costs EUR 11 million (7,7
million LVL). The
width of vessel will be 13 meters; the length is going to be 25
of ship - 2, 7 meter, speed - 20 knots, the engine capacity - 1600
the material - aluminium.
