On 13 September 2007, AS "PrivatBank", Riga, signed a Bilateral Loan Agreement worth EUR 5,000,000 with Landesbank Berlin AG, Berlin. The aim of the Agreement is to facilitate trade financing. The facility is fully guaranteed by the parent bank of AS "PrivatBank" – Closed Joint Stock Company Commercial Bank PrivatBank, (Ukraine).
The signing of the Loan agreement is a result of the title change executed by AS "PrivatBank" (former AS "PARITATE BANKA") recently. The bank took the name of its parent bank thus increasing its recognition worldwide. At the same time, the fixed capital of the bank was raised by EUR 10.1 million, which now amounts to EUR 19.36 million.

AS "PrivatBank" (former AS "PARITATE BANKA") was established in 1992 and is among the oldest banks in Latvia. The Bank offers a wide range of services to both private and corporate clients in Latvia and abroad. As of 2002, PrivatBank – the leader of the Ukrainian banking sector – is the main shareholder of AS "PrivatBank".
The profit of AS "PrivatBank" in the first six months of 2007 made up EUR 742 thousand. Income from the main activities of the group amounted to EUR 8.4 million in January-June, which is by 70% more than in the same period last year. The volume of the issued loans was EUR 111.187 million, the volume of deposits – EUR 115.12 million. The assets of the bank reach EUR 147.291 million.
