Olainfarm makes net profit of 824 707 lats during the first half of 2009
Unaudited consolidated profit and loss statement of Olainfarm for the first six months of this year shows that sales of the company during this period have grown by 4% compared to the similar period of 2008, while the net profit has reached 824 707 lats (1 173 452 euro).
Unaudited profit and loss statement for the first six months of 2009 shows that company sales have reached 10.17 million lats (15.2 million. Euro), which exceeds the result of the similar period of 2008 by 4%. Consolidated after tax profit during this period was 824 707 lats (1 173 452 Euro), while during the first half of 2008 the company made a net loss of 735 000 lats (1 045 811 Euro).
“Judging by the profit figures I must admit that this first half of a year has been the best-ever since privatization. Besides, during the first half of 2008 we made sizeable shipments to partners in Poland and the UK, which this year are moved to the second half of the year. Making the respective adjustments we see the sales growth in first six months of 15%, and I think given the conditions this is a perfect result” says Valerijs Maligins, Chairman of the Management Board of Olainfarm.
Sales growth during the first half of 2009 in the countries where particularly strong marketing effort was made was considerably faster. Sales to Russia grew by 40%, Moldova by 76%, Azerbaijan by 147%, and Kazakhstan by 22%. Some smaller growth was achieved even in countries like Ukraine, Belarus, and Latvia that are currently undergoing tougher times in their economy.
