The Supervisory Board of JSC Development Finance Institution Altum has approved Juris Jansons as a Member of the Management Board in an open competition. The new Member of the Management Board will start fulfilling his job duties on 9 January 2023 and his term of office is three years.

  Juris Jasons has been selected for the position in accordance with laws and regulations, by organizing an open tendering procedure (competition) and following good corporate governance practices.

  The open competition for the position of Member of the Management Board of JSC Development Institution Altum was organized and the candidates selected and assessed in three rounds by a nomination commission, set up in accordance with the Supervisory Board’s resolution of 17 March 2022, in cooperation with corporate recruitment services company LLC Fontes Executive Search.

  The nomination commission included representatives of the Ministries of Economy, Agriculture and Finance, the Cross-Sectoral Coordination Centre, the Finance and Capital Market Commission, Finance Latvia Association, the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Latvian Agricultural Organisation Cooperation Council.

  The main area of responsibility of the newly elected Member of the Management Board will be risk management and the prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism and proliferation.

  Jansons has more than 20 years of experience in operational compliance, the prevention of financial crimes and risk management, gained while holding managerial posts at JSC Swedbank.

  Juris Jansons has received a master’s degree in law from the University of Latvia. In addition to his extensive experience in the prevention of money laundering, Juris Jansons has a CAMS certificate asserting his international competence.

  From 9 January 2023, the Management Board of ALTUM will continue to work in the following composition – Chairman of the Management Board of ALTUM Reinis Bērziņš, Members of the Management Board Jēkabs Krieviņš, Inese Zīle, Ieva Jansone – Buka and Juris Jansons.

  JSC Attīstības finanšu institūcija Altum (JSC Development Finance Institution Altum) is a Latvia state-owned company that ensures access of the enterprises and households to the financial resources by means of support financial instruments - loans, guarantees, investments in venture capital funds - in the areas defined as important and to be supported by the state, thus developing the national economy and enhancing mobilization of the private capital and financial resources. On 25 March 2019 Moody’s Investors Service (Moody’s) reconfirmed Altum’s Baa1 long-term issuer rating, with outlook stable. The baseline credit assessment (BCA) was upgraded to investment grade rating baa3. The assigned Moody’s rating of Altum is one of the highest credit ratings assigned to corporate entities in Latvia. On 24 October 2017 the bonds issued by Altum were listed on a regulated market – Baltic Bond List of Nasdaq Riga.
