Today, November 29, Gunta Jēkabsone, chairwoman of the board of JSC "Augstsprieguma tīkls" (AST) participated at the meeting of the National Economy, Agrarian, Environmental and Regional Policy Commission of the Saeima. It was previously reported that AST developed and submitted a new electricity transmission tariff to the Public Utilities Commission for approval. It is planned that the new tariff could enter into force on March 1 next year.

During the meeting, Jēkabsone emphasized that the transmission service tariff should be reviewed as soon as possible, because the current tariff does not cover the company's costs. According to AST's calculations, each month in 2023, until the company's new tariffs come into effect, will bring about 6 million euros in losses to the company.

At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia on December 20, it is planned to review the reports of the Ministries of Economy and Finance on the possibility of correcting the tariff projects submitted by JSC "Augstsprieguma tīkls" and JSC "Sadales tīkls".
