After completion of repair works, only in May, this year, four ships have been put into operation. First, it was a PANAMAX type tanker owned by a company registered in Italy with homeport in Valetta, Malta. Large number of steel plates was replaced in the underwater part of the hull of the ship, as well as repairs of screw–propeller complex were performed, including replacement of gaskets. Shipyard specialists provided cleaning and painting of the ship’s body, repairs of the bottom reinforcement and replacement of pipelines.

At the same time, repairs of the bulk–carrier FRI LANGESUND owned by a company registered in Norway were performed at the dock, including cleaning and painting of the entire hull. Once again, shipyard specialists successfully performed repairs of screw–propeller complex, replaced pipelines, performed cleaning and painting of the cargo holds, as well as repairs of the gates of hold hatches and repairs of cranes.

Latvian ship owners also used services of specialists working at AS “Rīgas kuģu būvētava”, which is one of the oldest companies in Latvia. Shipyard specialists provided repair works of the barge MEMELE and the bunkering barge DRAUGS.

Completion of the works started nearly three months ago and related to repairs and modernisation of the suction dredger LANGE WAPPER with the homeport in Antwerp, Belgium, is planned for the first half of June 2017. Repairs included voluminous painting, pipeline replacement and dock works, as well as modernisation of lower door of the ship replacing and installing many parts. Personalised attitude towards the client and professionalism of the shipyard allowed for successful modernisation of a specific ship introducing changes in the construction of underwater section.

It is worth noting that all docks of the shipyard are fully loaded, and repair works are performed daily. Currently, employees of the shipyard perform works on two refrigerator ships owned by German and Greek companies.

AS “Rīgas kuģu būvētava” has concluded a number of contracts on repairs of ships to be performed in near future. These are ships of all types – refrigerators, tankers, bulk–carriers and PANAMAX.

AS “Rīgas kuģu būvētava” acknowledges that it fulfils its contractual obligations towards its cooperation partners, the company’s turnover is increasing, and the AS “Rīgas kuģu būvētava” is able to settle its liabilities providing the necessary financing.
