JSC Latvijas Gāze has received a short-term loan from SEB Latvijas Unibanka, in order to procure natural gas from OJSC Gazprom that has accumulated in the Incukalns underground gas storage. For the security of this loan, a commercial collateral has been registered at the Enterprise Register for the maximum claim sum of LVL 26.4 million. Total amount of loan equals to EUR 28.5 million and its term of payment is one year with a free repayment schedule. Loan repayment will be carried out after the delivery of the procured natural gas to JSC Latvijas Gāze customers in 2008. Preliminary purchase of natural gas would be beneficial to JSC Latvijas Gāze and its clients due to expected rise of the natural gas purchasing price by January 1, 2008.
